Bruce R. Nicol, DMD, MD, FACS

Dr. Nicol grew up in Paducah, Kentucky and attended the University of Kentucky for both undergraduate and dental school. He graduated from UKCD in 1975. He then served in the Navy for two years, followed by his oral surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta, Georgia. He completed that in 1980. He then attended the University of Kentucky Medical School and served a year of general surgery internship. Since then, he has been in the private practice of oral surgery, in the Lexington area. He practiced with the Kentucky Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for 37 years, briefly retired, then returned to practice part time. Dr. Nicol is married and has three children and seven grandchildren. His outside activities include fly fishing and shooting sporting clays.

He’s a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a member of the Kentucky Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of TMJ Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a member of the American Cleft Palate Association.
